What’re Lip Fillers?

Today’s classy fillers are made of Hyaluronic Acid (or HA) – a substance that’s found naturally within the body. It’s a rather useful attractiveness ingredient because it’s capable to hold up to 1,000 times its own weight in water. This really is the reason you’ll locate it up front and centre on the back of your skincare products. In a lotion it can only do so much because it can’t penetrate the outer layers of your skin to reach a depth where it can have an immediate and noticeable impact. Some brands are employing low molecular weight HA which impacts Lip Fillers cost, to try and drive it but that can just do so much. That’s where the needle comes in.

It’s easily broken down over a period of months, because HA is something which our body produces – albeit it once injected into the skin and in smaller quantities as we age – it’s happily accepted. It’s way from long-term; which in itself is not worry at SKIN CLUB’s Melbourne clinical studio. And it’s not only used in the lips it restore volume to cheeks can plump out wrinkles and eradicate those vertical lines at the side of your mouth. Therefore, if you’re thinking about facial fillers, here’s what you must understand.

Is it painful?

Treatment is painless, although you might not consider it. There are many horror stories where individuals have needed to stop proceedings before the treatment may also be finished because the process was too debilitating. But if the individual administering the treatment is good, you won’t be in pain. Of course the distress degree will largely depend on your own doctor’s technique. Seriously.

Numbing lotion is applied also. And there’s even a dose of the painkiller lidocaine mixed in with the HA in the syringe – which gets to operate as soon as it’s in your skin.

Should you know somebody who has had their lips done ask them about their doctor. If that’s not an alternative get onto Google. Find reputable practices in your area, read their reviews, check out their before and following images. Copy and paste the doctor’s name into Google and see what others think of their work. If your hair dresser or facialist offers you a small filler tell them ‘hell no’.

Is numbing creme used?

Dr Minocha talked to me about the merchandise he’d be using – in this event Emervel lips which has the right viscosity for lips and as the formula is super smooth it should give a fine, softly chubby, finish. He donned his gloves, coated my top lip with a numbing lotion, and set up a sterile place.

After around 5- minutes my top lip was numb enough to get going. He used a cannula (which is like a fine hollow tube) and injected into the lip from just outside its edge – which would minimise bruising – and as he pulled the cannula out he slowly shoved the filler into my lips. I consider myself to have a fairly high pain threshold but I was anticipating this to hurt, a lot. The lips are extremely vascular and they bruise easily.

The next day so what can you expect?

By the following morning, any slight swelling that was there the day before was completely gone. I only had a somewhat fuller, plumper mouth. Delight!

Everything felt entirely regular, albeit for two miniature small lumps marking the places where the cannula went in. After a few days even they were gone too.

It’s subtle and totally believable. I developed a tiny bruise that was the sole thing anyone noticed, in case you have dark skin and that lasted four days, chances are you wo bruise. My very own family didn’t even guess what I had done – instead colleagues and buddies told me I seemed ‘refreshed’, ‘healthy’ and ‘glowy’ and a few folks explained that they liked the way I had done my makeup, though I ‘dn’t changed it at all. It’s kind of amazing how one tiny ‘tweak’ had such an impact.
